May 9, 2017  (1 day)  

When the sisters of St. Joseph arrived in Concordia in 1884, one of their first tasks was to build a Motherhouse, which would serve as their convent. We will tour this massive five-story native stone building. We will also visit the National Orphan Train Museum to learn about the many stories of the children that were sent west in hopes of adoption. We will visit the POW Camp and Museum that, at its peak, housed 4,000 German prisoners. Lunch will be included at the Tea House and then a tour of the beautifully restored Brown Grand Theater built in the late 1800’s.   $107pp

We are excited to offer one of our favorite tours again this year. If you are comparing tours, look at all the attractions we offer. We simply do not want to travel to the New England states without taking time and experiencing all that it has to offer. Besides the brilliant colors that we see on this tour, we want to experience the rural hamlets along the scenic routes, the small picturesque fishing villages along the coast, and the isolated homesteads tucked in among the color. A fall colors tour back into the hills of West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. Appalachian folk music and storytelling are included throughout this tour. We will also take a sternwheeler ride to view Blennerhassett Island, visit the world’s largest fully steerable radio telescope, ride the Cass scenic railroad, stay at Hawks Nest State Park, and take a jet boat ride on the New River. December 28, 2017- January 5, 2018   

Southern California in the winter…what more needs to be said! The elaborate floats are unbelievable. It is one thing to see them on TV, but to see and smell these glorious creations in person is amazing. We have very nice reserved grandstand seating along the parade route. Includes a tour of L.A., Catalina Island, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Zoo! We drive out but we will fly home. $2,209 pp/dbl
