December 2009
I have been asked when we will run this tour again as you have heard
what a wonderful time we had in 2006. I am working on this tour for
December of 2009 but they are unable to give me their show dates as of
this printing. We will have additional information in our 2009 mid-year
newsletter.
Nestled at the foothills of the magnificent Rockies is, The
Broadmoor. Discover what a true Colorado Christmas was meant to
be, the snowy peaks, warmth of a crackling log fire, the smells of festive
holiday cooking and much more. We will stay at the spectacular
Broadmoor Resort for the three nights.
Day 1: At The Broadmoor Hotel, they decorate so lavishly for the holidays,
with thousands of lights. What a place to spend a couple of days during the most
wonderful time of year. We can enjoy all the amenities they have to offer while
we are guests, including 11 restaurants on property.
Day 2: Our day starts with a visit to the impressive and patriotic Air Force
Academy. We will visit the 17 spire, multi faith chapel which is the focal point
of the academy and the exhibits at the visitor center. A drive through the
Garden
of Gods is always awe-inspiring with the sun shining on the beautiful red
sculptures. We will stop at one of the oldest gift shops in the area “The Garden
of the Gods Trading Post.”
Day 3: This morning our tour takes us to the Olympic Training Center to
learn about how the athletes train to become part of the United States Olympic
Team. Following our guided tour we will spend some time in Old Colorado
City enjoying the many sights, sounds and smells of the Christmas season
throughout the many shops. It will then be time to head back to The Broadmoor
Hotel to get ready for their traditional Colorado Christmas dinner and show.
Day 4: Today, it’s time to say good-bye to the beautiful Colorado Rockies as
we head across eastern Colorado and western Kansas to prepare for our special
holiday celebrations with our friends and families. Hope you can join us!!
