CHRISTMAS TEXAS STYLEDecember 17 – 20, 2010 4 Days $598.00 The exquisite Gaylord Texan Resort, in Grapevine, will be home for two nights. Sister property to the incredible Opryland Hotel in Nashville, the Gaylord Texan will be decorated with more than 1 million lights. From the signature glass atrium to the interior landscaping featuring the rugged canyons of the Texas Hill Country and a meandering replica of San Antonio’s Riverwalk, all decorated for the holidays. Day 1: Today we head south with the anticipation of celebrating Christmas in Texas. Our first highlight will be in Chickasha, OK at the Festival of Lights. They celebrate Oklahoma’s biggest and best holiday light show featuring two million lights reflecting on the lake in historic Shannon Springs Park. The Festival of Light is electrifying with whimsical and colorful displays designed to warm hearts. Overnight in Chickasha. Day 2: Before arriving at the Gaylord Texan we will have an included lunch at the Bass Pro Shop. We will then check-in at the Gaylord Texan to discover the excitement that this beautiful resort has to offer. Tonight we will enjoy the Gaylord Texan’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. Overnight Gaylord Texan. Day 3: Each morning that we are at the Gaylord Texan a breakfast buffet will be included at the Riverwalk Café. “ICE,” a winter wonderland, is included at the Gaylord Texan. Hand-carved from nearly two million pounds of ice, larger than life, three dimensional ice sculptures include holiday scenes and the Nativity frozen within the ice. Visitors are given oversized winter coats to wear inside. We will then depart for the historic downtown of Grapevine, known as the Christmas Capital of Texas. Here we will be treated to a glass blowing demonstration. The artisans are experts in their field and we will be amazed at the creativity and passion that they bring to their works of art. Lunch will be on your own and some free time in this quaint and wonderfully decorated downtown. This evening will be an included dinner followed by the Holiday Show at the Grapevine Opry. We will return to the Gaylord Texan for the night. Day 4: Leaving Grapevine this morning, we will head home with the wonderful sights of the Gaylord Texan dancing in our heads. We should arrive back in Yoder at approximately 5:30pm.
