Our elegant riverboat meanders down the waters of the Mississippi Rivers. The ride is smooth, the shores are always in sight, and the experience is relaxing. Wooded islands dot the river, children wave from the banks of towns, and fishermen and sun-lovers drift by in small boats. Stay on land each night.
Day 1: The Mighty Mississippi River beckons us! While getting acquainted, we travel through farmlands and over hills to our first destination, Hannibal MO, the hometown of Mark Twain. This evening we ride the river like Tom & Huck aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. Enjoy the bountiful buffet, live entertainment, and beautiful scenery as we float down the river on the iconic paddle-wheeler. We will overnight in Hannibal. (D)
Day 2: This morning we step back in time to relive the adventures of Mark Twain in Hannibal on an old fashion narrated Trolley Tour. We drive by the impressive Rockcliffe Mansion and Mark Twain’s Cave which is mentioned in 5 of his books, including Tom Sawyer. Next, we visit Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum to see how Twain turned his childhood friends into characters in his novels. This afternoon experience the wit and wisdom of Mark Twain in a live Mark Twain performance. Next, we head north to the Quad Cities for our overnight. (B, L)
Day 3: Time to board the Celebration Belle and join our Captain and Crew for a day on the Mighty Mississippi River. Become Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn for the day! You will be starting in LeClaire, Iowa, and cruising south to Burlington, Iowa. Your day can be what you make of it, a learning experience or simply a leisurely cruise down the Mississippi. Come hungry, no cruise would be complete without food! Our chefs stay busy all day long preparing 3 fresh meals right aboard the boat. Overnight in Burlington, IA. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Today we continue downstream aboard the Celebration Belle. There are 2 observation decks to sit and enjoy the views. Don’t forget your camera! Live Entertainment? Yes! We have the best of the best when it comes to entertainment! Once again you will receive delicious meals prepared by the chef and his crew. Overnight in Hannibal. (B, L, D)
Day 5: This morning we once again board the Celebration Belle for our final day of cruising down the Mighty Mississippi River. By evening we dock in Grafton, IL just north of St. Louis. (B, L, D)
Day 6: What fun we experienced on the Mighty Mississippi, but today we say goodbye. We take with us fond memories of days gone by and look forward to making new memories of our own as we head home. (B)
