This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the Heartland Chophouse. After dinner, the evening is free to explore this vibrant area that never sleeps. (D)
Day 2: This morning we depart on our tour of New York’s lower Manhattan. This includes neighborhoods such as Little Italy, SoHo, Greenwich Village, and the Financial District. This afternoon we visit the 9/11 museum which has a collection of artifacts, stories, photos, video and other materials that have shaped our history. After a short rest at the hotel, dinner is at a local restaurant. Our first show is the Broadway sensation, Wicked! See what happened in the Land of Oz from a different angle, long before Dorothy arrived. (D)
Day 3: This morning we start at the Empire State Building for a bird’s eye view of this vibrant city. Then we pick up our step-on guide for the Brooklyn Pizza Tour. This tour covers Brooklyn and pizza, from one end to the other. It highlights famous neighborhoods, landmarks, famous movie locations, and the most spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge. We have some time to explore Coney Island and the famous boardwalk. This evening we take in our second Broadway show, Come from Away. This stirring and inspiring musical takes you to the small town of Newfoundland that welcomed 7,000 stranded travelers on 9/11. (L)
Day 4: This morning we are off to Battery Park where we catch a ferry to Liberty Island and visit the Statue of Liberty and the new Statue of Liberty Museum. The ferry also takes us to the historic Ellis Island where many immigrants entered this country. We return to the hotel by late afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city. Perhaps you want to do some shopping or take in an additional Broadway show or just wander around this dynamic section of Manhattan!
Day 5: This morning you might want to walk to the TODAY show plaza or watch through the windows of Good Morning America. A local step-on-guide joins us later this morning for a tour of the upper east and west sides. We will see Fifth Avenue, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral just to name a few. This afternoon, we return to the LaGuardia airport for our flight home.
