Bring along your grandchild(ren) as we explore NW Arkansas! Enjoy hands-on activities, explore War Eagle Caverns, visit the Amazeum, and more! All meals are included on this tour.
Day 1: Today we make our way to Northwest Arkansas. We play games along the way and get to know our new traveling companions. Lunch is included. Our first stop is the Spiva Center for the Arts where we have a creative hands-on activity and you can take home your creation! Next, we visit the Candy House Gourmet for a glimpse of how they make their delicious gourmet chocolates! After dinner, we check into our hotel for a 2-night stay in Northwest Arkansas, where you can relax or swim at the hotel’s pool. (L, D)
Day 2: After breakfast, we head out to War Eagle Cavern. Our tour guide leads us into the easy, wide-open pathway along the edges of the stream that flows throughout the cavern. The path wanders into large rooms while the guide explains the incredible domes and other formations. The resident bats and salamanders have also been known to make appearances during the tour. There is time to do another activity at the Cavern before lunch. This afternoon we find ourselves at the Amazeum. We participate in a hands-on, interactive, guided experiment led by one of the Lab Educators. It’s a fun experiment about chemical changes that happen with candy, exploring the science of acids and bases. After our experiment, you can explore this interactive museum filled with unique experiences centered on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Here you're allowed to wander, explore, discover, imagine, and create in a seriously fun environment. Walton 5 & 10 is our next stop. Learn how Wal-Mart got its start right here in Bentonville. This evening we make our way to Fast Lanes. You are given punch passes to be used for laser tag, bumper cars, a game of bowling, or other activities. Dinner is included at Fast Lanes. (B, L, D)
Day 3: After breakfast at the hotel, we make our way to the George Washington Carver National Monument. We take a guided ranger tour of the Carver Trail, visiting the Carver House and statue. We also have a hands-on educational experience at the Visitor Center. Lunch is included as we make our way back to Kansas filled with fun memories. (B, L)
