It's merrier in Grapevine, the Christmas Capital of Texas®! Grapevine is the perfect place to create wonderful Christmas memories. Be amazed at unique and traditional Christmas events, as you see Grapevine sparkle with millions of lights, enormous decorations, and animated characters.
Day 1: Today we make our way to the Christmas Capital of Texas, Grapevine. After checking into our hotel for our 3 night stay, we enjoy a catered BBQ dinner inside the beautifully restored historic Palace Arts Center in downtown Grapevine. After dinner, in the Palace Theater, we can sit back, relax, and revel in the sounds of The Texas Tenors! These classically trained, versatile tenors have performed all over the world. Their headline shows are a marvelous display of breathtaking vocals, opera sounds, and more. (D)
Day 2: Today explore Grapevine’s enchanting past and join in an Elf Adventure with the Grapevine Christmas Passport. Capture the magic of Christmas and take home your very own handmade projects. Next we experience delicious food and wine from local restaurants and specialty shops on our walking (casual stroll) of downtown Grapevine on our Food & Wine Tour. In between the tastings, we learn Grapevine's rich history, culture, and architecture. Next, we visit Nash Farm, the oldest farmstead in Grape Vine Prairie, and their special Victorian Christmas traditions. We tour this historic structure and experience daily life in Texas as it was in the late 1800s. After our tour, you have time to explore Historic Downtown Grapevine with its collection of charming shops, restaurants, and art galleries (B, L)
Day 3: This morning we start at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum with its state-of-the-art interactive exhibits. The museum gives visitors an in-depth look at eight years of American history, the American Presidency, and important issues of public policy. Our next stop is at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. The Museum, located within the former Texas School Book Depository building, chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. A step-on guide joins us for a JFK Experience, where we visit the JFK Memorial Plaza, learn stories of eyewitness accounts, discover the details of what was going on in the School Book Depository, in Dealey Plaza, on the Grassy Knoll, and in the presidential motorcade. We also visit the Texas Theatre where Oswald was arrested and the Oswald rooming house. Explore the facts and recount the incredible coincidences and timings that culminated in the event that shocked the world. (B, L, D)
Day 4: We leave Texas behind as we make our way home reliving Grapevine and some of the most magical moments of the season! (B)
